Creative Direction for the Industry.
Brief:
Learners’ artistic approaches should be voiced and heard at this stage of the programme. How learners set about communicating an idea within their creative industry, will require a firm foundation to build upon. The development of new concepts is central to the creative practice and individual identity of an artist and must be built on knowledge and understanding. It is no longer simply enough to ‘think outside the box’ or engage in ‘blue-sky thinking’, there must be a solid foundation of research, industry awareness, clarity and freshness to artistic practice within fashion media and promotion. The initial thoughts and concepts, which become the starting points of the specialist outcome, are vital. The communication of a concept, your specialist skills and the planning, time scale and methodology must be communicated throughout. Clarity of purpose, and the methods which will achieve this outcome, will also lead to the successful realisation of the creative outcome, whatever form that may take.
Concept:
"Why would you live by the rules that stop you being who you truly are? Everybody sees the world in a different light and you have the right to break the mould, live the that way you want to live and be who you want to be". Who Says... is a British monthly fluid-fashion style magazine, celebrating all gender identities, covering various topics on fashion, lifestyle, beauty, culture and runway, produced both print and digital. A magazine curated that pushes the boundaries on gender expression, specifically eliminating the menswear and womenswear binaries, and the stereotypes they may carry, and allowing self expression, true identity, freedom of choice and freedom of being, to eternally be at their core value. Who Says... creates a community of like-minded individuals, free in their ability to think, feel, act and most importantly, be. A space in which one can express themselves without fear of judgement. Who Says... incorporates a colour palette that's minimal, a youthful freshness and inclusive to all, whilst keeping up with the latest trends and styling, shown accessible to all.
